Songs of the weekend: Demo, take one, take seven of 'Strawberry Fields Forever'
Published on Sep 7, 2012 03:02PM
This clever video combines three versions of The Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever" included on their Anthology series.
The first is John Lennon's demo, then take one, and then take seven. It's a fascinating insight into how a song grows from infancy into a classic.
As an aside, one of the stupidest things I ever yelled when I was the equivalent of a boot-camp sergeant at the Coast Guard Academy was "Pain is temporary, but strawberry fields are forever."
