Barbary Coast Saloon

Interestingly enough, the idea of "10 Bands, $10" isn’t the most interesting part of this event. Rather, it is the real title of the event that is enticing: A Bikini Beach Bash. The parking lot of this club will be filled with sand and kiddie pools.

When • Saturday, Aug. 18, from noon to closing

Where • Barbary Coast Saloon, 4242 S. State St., Salt Lake City

Admission • $10 at SmithsTix

Area 51

Can you believe it? It is Area 51’s 14th anniversary, with DJ Jeremiah spinning upstairs and DJ Evil and DJ Viking holding court downstairs. It seems like only yesterday that the American government even acknowledged that Area 51 existed.

When • Saturday, Aug. 18, at 9 p.m.

Where • Area 51, 451 S. 400 West, Salt Lake City

Admission • $10 at door

Park City Live

The venue that once was the home of Harry O’s will host a "Jersey Shore" theme party, with proclamations that the critically acclaimed TV show’s newest cast members The Unit will be in attendance. I don’t know much about The Unit, but he apparently is tan and has well-defined abs. Good hair, too.

When • Saturday, Aug. 18, at 8 p.m.

Where • Park City Live, 427 Main St., Park City

Tickets • $10 at SmithsTix

In The Venue

This evening of electronic dance music is called "Utah Represent," featuring home-grown talent including Wilhelm K, Hobbz, Dirty Dutch Bros., Shortbus and Insideus. Wilhelm is a 20-year veteran of the EDM scene. Hopefully he doesn’t have tinnitus.

When • Saturday, Aug. 18, at 7 p.m.

Where • In The Venue, 579 W. 200 South, Salt Lake City

Tickets • $10 at SmithsTix

The Hotel & Club Elevate

"Heavy Hitter" DJ Camilo (above) was introduced to turntables at 12, and in 2001, he caught the eye of DJ Enuff, who not only was the Notorious B.I.G.’s former DJ but also worked at the most famous hip-hop radio station in America: New York’s Hot 97. He now hosts the No. 1 show in the 2 p.m. slot in the No. 1 radio market in the country. The night before this event, DJ Camilo is spinning a midnight set at Harrah’s Pool Party After Dark in Atlantic City, surrounded by palm trees. Some people do have the life, don’t they?

When • Saturday, Aug. 18, at 9 p.m.

Where • The Hotel & Club Elevate, 149 W. 200 South, Salt Lake City

Tickets • $10 at 24Tix
