Ryan Darton performs tonight in Utah.

Spotlight show • For this homecoming show, the Alta High graduate — go Hawks! — will return to a venue he often frequented with his former band, Kid Theodore. Ryan Darton has been living in Studio City, Calif., since Kid Theodore broke up in 2010, in a split that Darton described in a phone interview as "definitely amicable and definitely difficult." For the past 18 months, Darton had been preparing for his solo album debut, "I Am a Moth," which was released on July 24 — the same day he played at the famous L.A. hotspot Hotel Café. This show "gives a great excuse for friends and family to get together," said the self-proclaimed Utah boy who misses the best snow on Earth but lives in Los Angeles to further his music career. "I Am a Moth," Darton said, was a "lifetime project in the making" and will be available at the show in CD form as well as on vinyl.

When • Tuesday at 9 p.m.

Where • Urban Lounge. 241 N. 500 East, Salt Lake City

Tickets • $6 at door
