Utah resident Megan Joy has just released her debut self-titled album on itunes, and the release is the first since she was a contestant on "American Idol" in 2009.

The 9-track album was recorded with Joy’s close friend and producer Matthew Winegar and she also worked closely with husband Quinn Allman, guitarist for Utah rock band The Used.

Joy had spent two years after the show traveling, writing and recording. She has chosen to release her music independently. She took to the internet and successfully launched a crowd-funded Kickstarter campaign with the support of her loyal fans. "I'm currently preparing for the release of my 2nd album (yet to be titled) with tour dates to follow soon after," says Joy in a press release.
