Hal Cannon’s benefit concert for Folklore Society of Utah tonight

Hal Cannon’s benefit concert for the Folklore Society of Utah will be held tonight at 6:30 (for social hour), with the concert commencing at 7 p.m.
The concert will be held at 1257 E. 100 South, with a suggested donation of $15.

The Folklore Society of Utah launched its inaugural event on June 30, 1958, with 100 people in attendance.
Cannon is perhaps best known, musically for his band, the Deseret String Band (a.k.a. The Bunkhouse Orchestra), and currently plays with Phillip Bimstein’s Red Rock Rondo. He is the founding Director of the Western Folklife Center in Elko, Nevada, and its famous child, the Cowboy Poetry Gathering.
