Great news from KRCL:

The community radio station at 90.9 FM will begin running the acclaimed two-hour radio show World Cafe from 6 to 8 a.m. weekdays beginning April 30.

You don't have to worry about morning host Jamie Gadette getting the boot — she will be on KRCL from 8 to 11 a.m. each weekday. New general manager Vicki Mann said that now that Jamie doesn't have to be on the air at 6 every morning, she'll be able to attend more shows at night.

Mann said the music-intensive show is a good counter-programming move partly in response to X96's Radio From Hell's talk-intensive morning show, which tops the ratings in the valley.

World Cafe showcases indie rock, singer-songwriters, folk, alternative country, blues, and world music, and is produced by WXPN, Philadelphia.

Mann said this is the first time the David Dye-hosted show will be broadcast in Utah.
