Congratulations are in order for University of Utah-trained pianist Michael Stewart, who was just chosen as a First Place Winner of the American Protégé International Concerto Competition 2012.
For winning, he will conduct a recital on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
According to an e-mail from the judges, the "consensus of the judges that your playing reflects an exceptional level, and we are very pleased to award you this honor."
He is a West Valley City native.
This competition was chosen by DVD. Michael had to submit a DVD of his live performance of the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto.
