Keb Mo will perform at the White House on February 21 in a special concert celebrating blues music in recognition of Black History Month.
Hosted by President and Mrs. Obama, Keb Mo will be joined on stage by legends like Mick Jagger, Jeff Beck, B.B. King, Gary Clark, Jr., and more, with Booker T. Jones as music director and band leader. (Note: Mick Jagger and Jeff Beck are not black.)
The evening will be filmed for a PBS special “In Performance at the White House: Red, White and Blues,” which will air as part of the Emmy Award-nominated PBS “In The White House” series on Monday, Feb. 27 on PBS stations nationwide. (Check local listings.)
The concert, including the President’s remarks, will stream live at www.whitehouse.gov/live. In addition to the performance, Keb Mo will take part in an afternoon educational workshop about the Blues at the White House hosted by the First Lady for middle and high school students from across the country.
Check the web site for the exact time of the concert on Feb. 21 so you can watch it online. I received two press releases about this, and neither had the time listed. Don't you think that would be information I would like to know?
