Mouth of a Lion with The Avenues and Stankbot Tyranny

Part of Mo’s Neighborhood Grill Music Series, the show features three local bands, including Stankbot Tyranny, a young alt-rock trio featuring Will Holle on the drums, Ben Holle on guitar and Nick Anjewierden on bass.

Reese Waters

New York Magazine tapped Brooklyn-based Reese Waters as one of the city’s Ten Comedians to Watch in March 2009. He has also co-hosted "The Daily Line" on the Versus Network.

Comedy with a Complex

Peace Officer (above)

The Fort Collins-based Peace Officer mashes hip-hop and dub into a unique style called "Dub Hop." With sets played by a live band with four MCs, Peace Officer puts on groove-oriented shows that are socially conscious. GeorgeLLife and The Bridge are also on the bill.

Maceo Parker

Maceo Parker is synonymous with funk and for leading the tightest little funk orchestra on Earth. He got his start with James Brown, which Maceo describes as "like being at university," and then jumped aboard the Mothership with George Clinton and stretched out with Bootsy’s Rubber Band.

When • Sunday, Jan. 8, at 8 p.m.
