A handful of artists this summer — including Josh Groban, Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, and Owl City — will be playing a concert in Salt Lake City and are joining together to benefit the MusicCares Foundation, as well as hundreds of other charities through their concerts this summer.
They're all working with the startup, Tickets-for-Charity (http://ticketsforcharity.com), to allow buyers to donate a fixed amount of their ticket price to charities of their choices. (Tickets for Charity was created by the founder of Priceline.com, Jord Poster.)
First, Tickets For Charity is a socially conscious alternative to buying tickets on broker sites like StubHub and TicketsNow — you can enjoy the show and give back. Additionally, it's telling to see the additional charities that the bands choose to support. For example, Tim McGraw is giving a portion of his ticket sales to The Neighbor’s Keeper Foundation of Middle Tennesee, Taylor Swift (above) is Giving to MusicCares, while Rascal Flatts is donating to NRA Country Cares.
