Four Utah movie theaters will begin broadcasting performances by the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 2011, led by the dynamic conductor Gustavo Dudamel.

Vanessa Williams (above) has been confirmed to host the first live theater screening of a Los Angeles Philharmonic concert led by Music Director Dudamel, Sunday, January 9, 2011, at 3 p.m. MT. The screenings are produced as a result of collaboration between the LA Phil and NCM Fathom, a division of National CineMedia (NCM), and Cineplex Entertainment. "I'm thrilled to be working with the LA Phil on this exciting new venture to bring classical music to a larger audience," said Williams in a release. Grammy, Emmy and Tony-nominated Vanessa Williams currently stars in ABC's "Desperate Housewives." The Jan. 9 program includes:

ADAMS: Slonimsky's EarboxBERNSTEIN: Symphony No. 1, "Jeremiah"BEETHOVEN: Symphony No. 7 The January 9 concert is the first of three programs to be broadcast in theaters this season. The remaining concerts include an all-Tchaikovsky program interspersed with performances by actors reading related Shakespeare texts (March 13, 2011,3 p.m. MT) and an all-Brahms program (June 5, 2011, 3 p.m. MT).
