The Starkey Hearing Foundation, which distributes more than 100,000 hearing aids annually to people in need, today announced efforts to posthumously recognize actor and philanthropist Leslie Nielsen.
Effective immediately, the Foundation is now accepting public donations in honor of Nielsen, whose efforts in support of the organization helped improve those with hearing disabilities.
Fans of Nielsen’s life and work can make a secure donation in the star’s name by clicking on the “In Honor of” button at the bottom of the Starkey Hearing Foundation’s website, www.starkeyhearingfoundation.org/donate.php. Currently, the Foundation is also allowing Facebook fans to make donations in Nielsen’s name. To become a fan of the organization on Facebook and donate, visit www.facebook.com/StarkeyHearing.
On February 2, Jordin Sparks (above), "American Idol" winner will make appearances and deliver the gift of hearing to hundreds of children throughout the Dallas area during Super Bowl week.
(By the way, the foundation has no association whatsoever with Richard Starkey, better known as Ringo Starr, despite him giving me hearing damage.)
