The online radio station is now ranked in the top 30 in Live365, one of the world’s largest hosts of online radio stations (with more than 7,000 affiliated stations) and just swept the top three spots in the inspirational music genre.

Both of these milestones are firsts for the station that launched two years ago in November 2008. All three major streams on yourLDSradio.com – the main, flagship program featuring contemporary LDS songs, as well as two other streams (LDSHymns and the seasonal, yourLDSChristmas) are now positioned first, second and third among inspirational online radio programming at Live365.

Additionally, the station has logged over one million total hours – the equivalent of one person listening non-stop 24-7 for 114 years.

Sam Payne, yourLDSradio.com program director, attributed in a press release the surge to the popularity and variety of the musical offerings on the station as well as the cultural dynamics of the church. "Clearly, yourLDSradio has hit a responsive chord with the Latter-day Saint community. It is becoming a worldwide connecting point throughout the United States and in 135 foreign countries. The ease with which members can find the station on a computer or a mobile device means that the station can be an ‘anytime, every-day’ companion for millions."

According to Live365, yourLDSradio.com is now consistently hitting about 100,000 listening hours a month.

Gaylen Rust, owner of yourLDSradio.com, said in the same press release that the growth of the station has exceeded every target expectation by leaps and bounds. "We honestly did not see this coming. We were very hopeful and thought we had an excellent model to bring a variety of music to listeners worldwide, but have been surprised by the station’s popularity and the steady increase in the audience. To capture the top three spots among inspirational stations and push into the top 30 is more than we ever imagined."
