Jonas Otsuji, a Lehi resident who caters and teaches sushi classes, will be a contestant on SURVIVOR: ONE WORLD.

The 24th installment of the Emmy Award-winning reality series premieres Wednesday, Feb. 15.

According to his website, sushisurfer.com, Otsuji is a fourth-generation Japanese American born in Hawaii. His grandmother taught him to cook Japanese cuisine when he was 6.

Later, he apprenticed at the #1 rated sushi bar in Las Vegas, Sushi Roku. He went on to work at a number of sushi bars on the West Coast.

For the last several years he has taught sushi making classes at various culinary kitchens in Utah including Thanksgiving Point and Orson Gygi.

We're guessing his knife skills will be helpful on the reality show, but can he fish? Stay tuned.
