Utah chef Phelix Gardner is on the move — again.
Gardner, who worked at The Wild Grape — and moved to the Grand America about six months ago — has been named the new executive chef at Finca. The Italian restaurant is currently under construction on the corner of 1300 South and 1100 East, across from Liberty Heights Fresh Market.
Gardner will work at Pago, Finca's sister restaurant for 2 months until the restaurant is ready to open, said owner Scott Evans. Having Gardner in the kitchen allows Evans more time to look for Pago's new executive chef. Former chef Michael Richey moved to Solitude Resort in December.
