Salt Lake City’s Vertical Diner is a finalist for a national Libby Award, which honors animal-friendly people, places and products.
The vegetarian restaurant, 2280 S. West Temple, is one of four finalists in the “Best Local Restaurant” category along with establishments in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Nashville. Utahns can help Vertical win the top prize by voting at peta2.com
Now in its sixth year, The Libby Awards — short for liberation — are given in 29 different categories by peta2, the youth division of PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals).
In selecting Vertical, judges noted several favorite dishes including the mock chicken tenders with dairy-free ranch dressing and the vegetarian "Sunshine" burger, pictured here.
