Malawi’s Pizza is expected to open a second restaurant in Salt Lake City’s Gateway Mall. However, a manager contacted by The Tribune wasn't sure the exact location in the downtown shopping center.
The new Malawi’s will offer the same food menu as its sister restaurant in Provo, he said. But the downtown store will have something extra - beer. The owners have applied for a state liquor license from the DABC.
Malawi’s serves traditional and speciality pizzas on a thin, crispy crust. The menu also includes salads, pastas and dessert pizzas.
It also serves "food you can feel good about." For every meal customers purchase, Malawi’s donates a nutritious meal to a child in Africa. So far, the company has donated more than 80,000 meals.
