Two gourmet food producers from Utah have been named finalist in the 2012 Good Food Awards competition.
Salt Lake City’s Creminelli Fine Meats is a finalist in the charcuterie category for its Bresaola, Piccolo and Finnochiona Salami; while Amano Artisan Chocolate, in Orem, has been recognized in the chocolate division for is Guayas bar.
This the second year that a Christiano Creminelli, pictured here, has been a finalist for the national award, which recognizes the best American food producers.
This year, more than 920 producers from around the country submitted their products for judging in eight different categories. Besides charcuterie and chocolate, other categories include beer, cheese, preserves, coffee, pickles and spirits.
Winners in all eight categories will be announced Jan. 13 during ceremonies in San Francisco's historic Ferry Building. Artisans who win the honor get to carry a special seal on their product's packaging letting customers know the food is especially delicious.
