And now a few words from by colleague Glen Warchol:

In its never-ending quest to peddle booze, the liquor industry has hit on the Big Idea: Come up with brightly colored cocktails with holiday themes. It's a bad idea. One's stomach lurches merely to read the recipes coming out of public relations firms for pumpkin-, nutmeg- and giblet-based high balls. With New Year's Eve upon us, the tequila makers are pushing some truly terrifying concoctions. I got these suggestions from the folks who push 1800 Silver Tequila. First let me make clear — I love silver tequila in classic margaritas. I also love a good sparkling wine from France, California, Italy or Spain. But I don't like them together! Not that I haven't tried. I've even had the World War I classic "French 75," that co-mingles bubbly and gin and, I think, mustard gas.If the newly invented "Bubbly Pomtini" doesn't sound to you like a freight-train of a hangover roaring down the track, you might also like for the "NYE Sparkler," with its gut-wrenching doses of raspberry liqueur and lychee liqueur on top of the champers and tequila.Bottoms up!Fortunately, AgroLabs (which sounds suspiciously like a fertilizer manufacturer) sent along a hangover elixir to cleanse away those frothing Tequilla morning terrors. Combine a half a shot of AgroLabs Green Envy Daily Detox potion with a half-ounce of Acai Daily Cleanse (no, it's not a carpet cleaner) with some mint leaves, lime juice and ginger ale. The detoxifying ingredients, according to the press release, include milk thistle, green coconut water, and senna, a laxative.Just what the doctor ordered!
