Utah's athletics department set a record for its multi-year Academic Performance Report released Tuesday with Utah averaging 981 in the report, an improvement from its previous best of 978 set a year ago. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation of student-athletes on scholarship. The NCAA minimum requirement is 925. The Utes' gymnastics team was recognized for a multi-year APR that ranks in the top 10-percent of all Division I gymnastics teams with a perfect 1,000 multi-year APR, to tie for first in the Pac-12 with Arizona and California. Women's cross country tied for second with an APR of 994 and football ranked third with an APR of 963. Other teams joining the gymnastics team with 1,000 APRs for 2011-12 were men's golf, men's swimming, men's tennis, women's cross country and women's tennis. - Lya Wodraska
