Utes are hottest ticket in town
According to StubHub, an online ticket service, the Utah-TCU game is the hottest ticket in the Salt Lake City area of the year with fans paying an average of $126 per ticket. The lowest priced tickets for standing room only are $117 and the highest priced tickets are about $750. Utah has filled about 100 credential requests for the game, in addition to the 118 media members who have season credentials. Several former Utes are coming back for the game as well, including Alex Smith, Barry Sims, Jamal Anderson, Robert Johnson, Luther Elliss and Kevin Dyson and Zane Beadles. Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said Wednesday he'd had 'hundreds of requests' for tickets. According to his contract, Whittingham has a private stadium box at his disposal for football games along with a minimum of 28 tickets. But don't bother asking him for one if you run into him. "They are gone, I am tapped out," he said. Whittingham said his wife, Jamie, was the one who doled out the tickets. "She is the ticket broker," he said. Sports Illustrated's Austin Murphy spent several days with the Utes last week, in Salt Lake City and at the game at Air Force. You can read his story on Utah here.
