Good thing the Utes have a few extra days until they play again, I think we could all use a little extra time to recover after Thursday's thriller. The Utes aren't practicing again until Monday due to the holiday, but are going to get in the film room today and start analyzing Thursday's game so they can fix their mistakes. There were plenty, Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said, but really who doesn't expect some miscues on opening night, particularly against a quality opponent such as Pitt. These are a few of the things I'll be looking for as the Utes go forward. What receivers are going to help DeVonte Christopher and Jereme Brooks this year? How much better will the linebackers be when projected starter J.J. Williams returns from his foot injury (which could be for the UNLV game), can Shaky Smithson bounce back from his bad start? Is Matt Asiata, who had 16 carries for 65 yards, going to become the primary back instead of Eddie Wide (9 carries for 47 yards)? How much more dominant can Utah's defensive line be? Few leftover quotes from Thursday for you. "We proved this defense can be good and we can stop good running backs," defensive lineman Sealver Siliga. "DeVonte stepping up is huge. We've seen him developing. He made a transformation from quarterback to receiver very well," Whittingham."(Defensive coordinator Kalani) Sitake did a nice job calling the game right. He is developing into a fine young defensive coordinator," Whittingham."If we cut down on penalties and turnovers that is a whole different ball game," Jordan Wynn."I watched more film in the last week than I have in my whole life," offensive lineman John Cullen.
