Aggies center Tyler Larsen named an All-American by USA Today
With the regular college football season over, postseason honors have started pouring in. That means some big honors for Utah State senior center Tyler Larsen.
How about this one? All-American.
Larsen, the most veteran player on Utah State's team with 51 starts, got his due from USA Today, listed as a second-team All-American. Although he was named to Phil Steele's preseason All-American team, this is Larsen's first-ever such honor in the postseason.
He certainly is no stranger to accolades. On Monday, Larsen was identified as one of six national candidates for the Rimington Trophy for the top center in the country. On Tuesday, he was named to his third straight all-conference first team.
Larsen led an effort from the offensive line that held on after losing Kyle Whimpey and many others around them at the skill positions. He graded out above 86 percent in every game in the Aggies' film review, and had 49 knockdowns, according to the school.
Utah State is no stranger to national honors, as Will Davis and Kerwynn Williams each made All-American lists last year. As more lists come out, more honors could be on the way for Larsen, widely considered on of the top center prospects for the NFL Draft next spring.
