USU Football: Finally, a bit of a break

In preparation for Louisiana Tech - Utah State's biggest game in almost four decades, the Aggies practiced hard as usual for the first three days of the week.

Thursday ended with a film session and meetings, as Aggie coaches took the road in an effort to get some recruiting in.

Now, though, here comes the fruits of bye week.

Utah State players are off for the next three days. It's a chance for the Aggies to get a bit more healthy, get their minds away from football and to get mentally and physically prepared for next week's showdown against the Bulldogs.

"We're happy to be able to get away a little bit," USU coach Gary Andersen said. "For the coaches, it will be business as usual, but the players get a break."

The Aggies are 8-2 on the season, dominant within the Western Athletic Conference and on their way to what is potentially their best season in school history.

A win over Louisiana Tech will likely garner Utah State a national ranking.
