Marcel Davis is fast becoming a national name. MaxPreps.com has recently released its list of top recruits in the Class of 2012, and Davis has cracked it, coming in at 129th nationally. A 6-foot-3 junior point guard from American Fork, Davis committed to Utah State over the summer and is thought to be a major part of the Aggies future. Davis is thought to be one of the top three point guards in the state, along with Tyrell Corbin of West and Nick Emery of Lone Peak. He's also one of the top two instate prospects in the Class of 2012. Davis had a wonderful summer, showing an improved handle, the athleticism to dunk in traffic and the skills that have him thought of as a pure point. He was able to get into the lane at will over the summer and either set up teammates or score in the paint. His ranking by MaxPreps.com only goes to underscore just how much his stock rose this summer. By the time Davis reaches Logan, he's projected to be a shade over 6-4, accoring to his father, Rodney. Davis will lead a team that should be amongst the favorites to win the Class 5A state title this winter. Tony Jones
