Review: 'Betrayal' is a big, honkin' bore
After watching the pilot episode of ABC's Betrayal (Sunday, 9 p.m., Ch. 4), two questions immediately popped to mind.First, could that possibly have been as boring as I thought?Answer: Yes.And, second, what were ABC executives thinking when they picked this up as a series?Answer: I have absolutely no idea."Betrayal" is a grim, uninteresting and mind-numbing soap opera that's less interesting than looking out the window and watching your neighbors. This series is about a married woman, Sara (Hannah Ware), and a married man, Jack (Stuart Townsend) - married to other people, that is - who are inexplicably attracted to one another. Quicker than you can say, "adultery," they're sleeping with each other. This gets more complicated, but no more interesting, when Sara's husband, Drew (Chris Johnson), and Jack end up on opposite sides of a murder case. It's muddled and, worse yet, dull. The big "Betrayal" here is what ABC is perpetrating on the viewing public.
