Coach Jason Kreis wouldn't go so far as to say his newest striker will play a huge role down the stretch for RSL as it fights for the Supporters Shield, the CONCACAF Champions League and MLS Cup trophies. But he did ratchet up the expectations for Paulo Araujo Jr.The 21-year-old Brazilian joined RSL on Friday on a season-long loan from minor-league Miami FC of the USSF D-2 Pro League, where assistant coach Jeff Cassar had scouted him and arranged for a trial with the defending MLS Cup champions last week."I was sold after one day of training," Kreis said. "He is, in my eyes, probably the best trialist we've ever brought to Real Salt Lake. He convinced me in one day."Although Kreis said Araujo will need time to acclimate to his new teammates, just like anybody else, he is "somebody that knows how to score goals. We put him in some of the small-sided game situations, and he was scoring nearly every time he touched it. So I was really, really impressed, and I can't wait to give him an opportunity."The coach said cracking the starting lineup soon will be tough, but Araujo could become a valuable player next season, if RSL can't re-sign forwards Alvaro Saborio or Robbie Findley. By then, the Brazilian he will wear "Paulo Jr." on his No. 23 jersey will have had months of practice with his new team, and keeping him would come at a much cheaper price.
