Former Bingham High volleyball all-stater Danika Youngblood — an outside hitter at Western Nebraska Community College — has been named a first-team All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Youngblood has committed to play volleyball next year at Cal State Bakersfield. The 5-foot-8 sophomore helped the Cougars to a 40-3 record and a runner-up finish at the NJCAA national tournament last month. The daughter of former Utah State basketball great Kendall Youngblood, Danika finished the season with 474 kills, 401 digs, 37 blocks and 24 aces. In Utah, Youngblood played for the Utah Elite volleyball club and Bingham High before embarking on her college career.
