Mike Brown, a 6-foot-3 guard at Wasatch High School in Heber City, has committed to play basketball for Weber State University. Brown recently started his senior year at Wasatch. He committed to the Wildcats in early August, according to his father, Allen Brown. Mike Brown led Wasatch to the 3A state title last spring as a junior, averaging 17.1 points and 4.5 assists per game for the Wasps. He was the third-leading scorer in 3A. He will join former Wasatch standout Darin Mahoney at Weber State. Brown will sign with WSU in November when the NCAA's early-signing period for men's basketball begins. He also had interest from Utah State, Utah Valley, Southern Utah, Westminster, San Francisco, Penn, Kennesaw State and Lafayette.

Brown had a strong summer basketball season, helping his Utah Pump-N-Run team to several big wins over prestigious national programs. He helped lead that team in scoring, along with Highland's Nate Fakahafua, who has committed to play football for Utah.
