Bingham's 24-0 victory over second-ranked Brighton Friday night coupled with Bishop Gorman's moving up to the top spot in most of the national polls helped the Miners get more national respect.

Bingham, whose only loss came in overtime to Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, moved from 21 to 12 in this week's CBS MaxPreps Composite national poll.

The Miners are ranked 18th in MaxPreps Xcellent 25, 18th in PrepNation, 11th in USA Today and 17th in the MaxPreps computer rankings.

The close loss to Bishop Gorman coupled with the Las Vegas' team ranking has no doubt helped the Miners' strength of schedule and helped give the South Jordan team some national respect. Bingham has not given up a point in its last three games.
