One of the side benefits of winning a state championship by a score of 58-2 is that people take notice.

That's what happened this week, after Jordan won a Class 5A football title in dominant fashion, and national pollsters were the ones who accounted for the huge victory. The Beetdiggers finished their season with a No. 11 ranking in Maxpreps.com's Freeman rankings, No. 25 in the Xcellent 25, and No. 46 in the Rivals High top 100.

Those rankings may change as other teams wrap up their seasons this month, but it's a solid finish for a 12-1 program that was looking to leave a national footprint this year.

The only other team making a splash after the season was Timpview, which finished at No. 39 in the Maxpreps.com rankings after a double-overtime win over Mountain Crest in the 4A championship. The Thunderbirds finished outside the Rivals rankings.

Jordan did not make the top 25 in USA Today, nor honorable mention this week.
