San Diego wants Romney's help with Olympic bid. Hatch may back immigration reform. Utah lawmakers eye pro-gun bills.

Happy Monday. Mitt Romney is credited for helping to save the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, so San Diego is thinking he could be helpful in swinging the Games to come its way. The city's mayor says he's asked Romney to be its honorary chairman in seeking the 2024 SummerOlympics for San Diego and it's Mexican neighbor, Tijuana. [AP]

Topping the news: Sen. Orrin Hatch voted against immigration reform in 1986 and 2006, but could be coming around to supporting the proposal now in the Senate that would allow a path to citizenship. [Trib]
