Renovations at two Park City sites will mean big changes for the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

The Park City Racquet Club, where Sundance sets up a 600-seat theater each year, is in the middle of a massive makeover. So is the dilapidated Main Street Mall, which the art-installation site New Frontier on Main has called home.

The plan to compensate for the Racquet Club's absence is a bit of a patchwork. The festival will set up some screenings at the Redstone Cinemas, out by Kimball Junction. Also, midnight screenings will be added at the Yarrow, and a few more seats will be installed at the Park City Library Center.

New Frontier will find a new home this year at the old Park City Miners' Hospital, across the street from the Library Center. (In past years, this has been the site of the Volunteer Villa, and was the central location for print runners.)

The 2011 Sundance Film Festival runs Jan. 20-30. The deadline for locals and non-locals to register to buy passes and ticket packages is Wednesday, Oct. 13.
