Oh, to be in Telluride...

The Cricket is always jealous of those who get to go to the Telluride Film Festival, which runs Friday through Monday in the old Colorado mining town.

This year, though, there's a lot to be jealous about.

The 2010 line-up, a closely guarded secret before showtime, has been released — and there are some interesting possibilities.

Among the highlights are new films from Mike Leigh ("Another Year"), Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu ("Biutiful," with Javier Bardem), Stephen Frears ("Tamara Drewe," starring Gemma Arterton, pictured above), Olivier Assayas ("Carlos"), documentarian Errol Morris ("Tabloid") and "Triplets of Belville" animator Sylvain Chomet ("The Illusionist"). There also is "Never Let Me Go," the adaptation of the Kazuo Ishiguro novel starring Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan, and the follow-up to Ken Burns' "Baseball," "The Tenth Inning."

Another Telluride tradition, the trio of Silver Medallion tributes, look promising, too. They are director Peter Weir (who's bringing his new film, "The Way Back"), actor Colin Firth (with screenings of his possible Oscar contender, "The King's Speech"), and Italian actress Claudia Cardinale.

And there are already rumors afoot, according to Cinematical, of a few surprise screenings — including Danny Boyle's "127 Hours" and Darren Aronofsky's "Black Swan."

Also there's the possibility that Telluride-based caterer Kenny Gilbert — one of the contestants on "Top Chef" this season — will be serving food at one of the parties.
