Billups warned for flop against Jazz

The NBA has issued a warning to Clippers guard Chauncey Billups for flopping in Monday's 105-104 win over the Jazz in Salt Lake City.

With 1:14 remaining in the game, which the Jazz led by as many as 14 points in the third quarter, Mo Williams ran out at Billups, his former Clippers teammate, as he shot a 3-pointer. Williams twisted to avoid Billups, who tumbled backward as his shot missed. Replays showed Billups swung out his left arm and leg to draw contact as Williams passed.

"[Billups] is a vet," Williams said after the game. "... I can't get mad. I get some of those. It just happened at the wrong time."

Billups became the seventh player to be disciplined by the league for flopping under the first-year policy. After receiving a warning for his first flop, a player will earn a $5,000 fine for his second, $10,000 for a third violation, $15,000 for a fourth and $30,000 for a fifth. Further violations would result in more severe fines and a suspension.
