WASHINGTON — The injuries are starting to add up for Jazz point guard Mo Williams.
The Jazz's second leading scorer (16 points per game) will be a game-time decision Saturday night in Washington after aggravating his already injured right thumb Friday in Philadelphia. The first-year point guard missed Utah's win over Phoenix on Nov. 10 with a strained groin muscle. Williams said Friday he first injured his thumb during Monday's triple-overtime win against Toronto, and hit it again on the first play of the 99-93 loss to the 76ers.
"We'll see what's up," Williams said after the loss. "I just didn't have any feeling, I couldn't use it like I wanted to. Just got to fight through it. Nobody's going to feel sorry for me."
Williams scored 12 points on 5-of-14 shooting against the 76ers, but a missed 3-pointer in transition seemed to be the end of their comeback bid. Williams has struggled on the Jazz's road trip. He is just 11-of-33 in the last two games against Philadelphia and Boston.
The Jazz (4-6) will try to salvage a 2-2 record on this four-game road trip when the play the winless (0-7) Wizards at 5 p.m. MT at the Verizon Center. The Jazz are 1-5 on the road.
