Postgame notes following the Jazz's 82-74 preseason victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday evening at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.Deron Williams played with a wrap on his right calf."I knew the days [off] would help," Williams said. "It would feel good when I got rest. I'd come out play a quarter, feel good. Then the third quarter, tighten up. I didn't sit for a long period of time.On being 7-0: "Seven wins is good, man, any way you look at it. Guys are getting experience out there. We're just going to hopefully run with it. We've got one more we've got to get, and then the real thing starts."Raja Bell was proud of his pregame cup of coffee: "Slow drip french roast."Conversational highlight of exhibition play thus far:Kyrylo Fesenko walked out of the shower and asked Al Jefferson if he was going to talk to the media before or after he showered. Jefferson, who had already showered and was toweling off, said after. Fesenko, realizing that Jefferson was already getting dressed, laughed and said OK. Fesenko then kept talking. Soon, Deron Williams began messing with Fesenko.Williams: I don't understand what you're saying.Fesenko speaking ...Williams: We just like making fun of you, man.Fesenko: I didn't sound like Apu from Simpsons.Williams laughs ...Jefferson: Hey, Fes, just be quiet, man....Williams then got into Jefferson, who wears baggy jeans.Williams: Booz came back in the form of Al Jefferson. Size 48 jeans.Jazz coach Jerry Sloan early in the first quarter: "What the hell are we running?"Jefferson's injury appears to be centered around the lower padding of his right index finger, which was visibly swollen."Sore as [heck]," Jefferson said. He added: "It's just never going to heal, because every time that ball is going to hit right there. Something I'm just going to have to suck it up and deal with."Jefferson said he has never had the injury in the past.Paul Millsap left the game with 3.6 seconds left in the first quarter due to a sore back. He returned during the third quarter, though.Jazz continued to kill it from the free throw line, hitting 82.8 percent (24 of 29) of their attempts. Utah recorded nine blocks. Four by Jefferson, three by Andrei Kirilenko and two by Fesenko.Earl Watson played all 12 minutes during the fourth quarter. Ronnie Price totaled 6:59.Sloan on Watson: "I thought he did a good job pushing the ball up the floor. ... Kept the tempo of the game a little bit more in our favor a time or two. He hasn't been here very long to run the plays — and we've got probably too many at times. But that's a part of it, learning through mistakes."Strong defense from Gordon Hayward. The rookie was 0 for 5, though, and reverted to his negative body language after one miss.Very aggressive play from Francisco "I don't know how to relax" Elson."I don't hear anything unless you hit me," Elson said. "I think if we all play aggressive from the beginning of the game, we'll be a lot better. Instead of letting other teams dictate the tempo of the game."On his hamstring: "It was kind of a little tender but pretty good."Sloan on Elson: "I thought he played pretty well. He wanted to play a little more, but I just felt like it was the best thing to play him in shorter spurts."Sloan gave Elson a "good job" and hard slap of the hand when the center left the court during the second quarter.Sloan on Williams: "He's a little rusty. Hadn't played for a day or two, and that's to be expected. He'll get better."Okur and Williams chatted it up several times during timeouts. Seemed to get along well.Rough game from Jeremy Evans, who was returning from the flu. Four points, three turnovers and two fouls in 17:34. Also received a talk from Fesenko during a timeout.Nice set late in the second quarter. Williams drove the lane, fed it to Fesenko, who then immediately passed the ball to C.J. Miles on the left wing for a swished 3-pointer.Bell to referee about Kobe Bryant: "I'm trying to run across the lane. Kobe's got me in a bear hug."Bell appeared to later complain about an elbow from Bryant. Sloan to a ref: "How about the elbow?"Bell to the same ref: "You ain't looking for that."Miles on finding his floater: "It's slowly coming back.
