Going to the state fair isn't exactly a cheap activity. But there are a number of discounts and promotions available that can make it more affordable. The fair runs Sept. 9 through 19. Check out all the discount offers here. My favorites are the $4 opening day special, the free admission for military, law enforcement and emergency services personnel and the buy one get one free all-you-can-ride carnival wristbands.
