BYU's Davies signs free-agent deal with Clippers
Looks like the Los Angeles Clippers are serious about the prospects of adding former BYU star Brandon Davies to their roster. Davies, who went undrafted in last week's NBA Draft, has signed a free-agent deal with the Clippers. It isn't just a standard free-agent deal, however. Sean Deveney of The Sporting News reported via Twitter that Davies signed a "partially guaranteed" one-year contract with the Clips. Davies was disappointed that he didn't get drafted, but this way his dream stays alive. If he doesn't make the Clippers' roster, expect him to head overseas. Davies' career stats weren't great, but his senior season he averaged 17.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. In other BYU basketball-related news, rising junior Tyler Haws has made it to Russia with his Team USA teammates and has been tweeting out updates (@tyhaws3) and pictures from Kazan. Haws will wear No. 6 for Team USA, which begins play at the World University Games later this week. Here's a nice feature on Haws from the USA Basketball website.
