Finally, BYU fans have something to cheer about in what has been a rather dismal fall. Damarcus Harrison, a 6-foot-4 wing player from South Carolina, has committed to play college basketball for BYU. Harrison picked the Cougars over Clemson and Florida State. Harrison played last year at Chris School in Arden, N.C. He averaged 12.5 points and five rebounds a game. His high school coach, David Gaines, said BYU put "a lot of effort" into recruiting Harrison, who is a member of the school's sponsoring institution, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. "His religion certainly was a factor, but at the end of the day he fell in love with the coaches and the setting," Gaines told Scout.com. "...They play a style that is up his alley."
