The Salt Lake City Arts Council will announce the lineup for the much-anticipated 2013 Twilight Concert Series on Wednesday, May 8, at 10 a.m. at the Art Barn.

Last year, the weekly outdoor concert series celebrated its 25th anniversary with guest artists ranging from Nas to Beach House.

As we know, 2012 also ushered in a new admission charge to the once-free series. The $5 ticket fee resulted in slightly smaller crowds at Pioneer Park; in 2011, concerts drew an average of 33,000 people at each show. but in 2012, the series averaged 16,000 people per concert.

As such, the 2013 Twilight Concert Series will maintain its $5 admission charge.

The concerts will be held on Thursday evenings in July and August, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and shows starting at 7 p.m.

I will post the performers as soon as possible, as well as tweet about the performers at @davidburger on Twitter.

Pollstar has reported that The Flaming Lips will perform at Pioneer Park on Thursday, July 25, and by looking at the band's website, it appears the band could indeed be there according to the band's routing.
