Robert F. "Bob" Farrington announced this week he will be resigning his position as Salt Lake City Economic Development Director to focus on new opportunities to share his experience throughout the state.
He was appointed by Mayor Ralph Becker in June 2008.Among many other accomplishments, he was involved in the initial planning and creation of the Utah Performing Arts Center, the downtown cultural core project and the rebuilding of North Temple."Bob has been an incredible asset to the City and its residents," said Mayor Becker in a press release. "His influence will have a significant and long-lasting impact on the future of Salt Lake City." Prior to serving as economic development director, Farrington was the founding executive director of the Downtown Alliance, where he served for 16 years.
