Utah District winner Rebecca Pedersen advances to Metropolitan Opera National Council Finals

Utah District winner Rebecca Pedersen is one of 10 singers who are advancing to the 2013 Metropolitan Opera National Council Finals, to be held March 10:

The finalists are:

MATTHEW ANCHEL - Bass Eastern Region MICHAEL BRANDENBURG - Tenor Central Region BRANDON CEDEL - Bass-Baritone Middle Atlantic Region TRACY COX - Soprano Western Region SYDNEY MANCASOLA - Soprano New England Region MUSA NGQUNGWANA - Bass-Baritone Middle Atlantic Region RICHARD OLLARSABA - Bass-Baritone Upper Midwest Region REBECCA PEDERSEN - Soprano Rocky Mountain Region THOMAS RICHARDS - Bass-Baritone Central RegionEFRAÍN SOLÍS - Baritone Western Region The Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions have helped launch the careers of some of today's greatest singers, including Stephanie Blythe, Renée Fleming, Susan Graham, Thomas Hampson, Ben Heppner, Patricia Racette, Samuel Ramey, Deborah Voigt and Frederica von Stade. This year's finalists of this nationwide competition will perform on the Met stage, accompanied by the Met Orchestra, conducted by Marco Armiliato.

Former MONC winner and Met star Sondra Radvanovsky will be the host and guest artist. Winners will be announced after the concert.
