LaVell Edwards Stadium has always been THE place for football in Provo. Soon it will be the spot to buy fresh locally-produced food.

Brigham Young University will begin a four-week Stadium Farmers Market on Thursdays, from Sept. 23 through Oct. 14. The market will be at the south end of the stadium from 2 to 7 p.mBesides local farmers, it will feature BYU Creamery ice cream, cheese and BYU Bookstore fudge; live music and entertainment by students; nutritional training provided by Dining Services; and cooking tips from BYU's certified executive chef John McDonald.BYU is hoping to keep the event from becoming a "swap meet" and limiting the number of non-food products. The school says 50 percent of the vendors will be growers, 30 percent will be arts and crafts, 10 percent bakers and 10 percent local restaurants.
