Kiler Grove Winegrowers from Paso Robles California is moving its winemaking and tasting room operations to South Salt Lake later this year.

While they will continue to grow their grapes in California, the winery will operate a tasting room and retail operation in the building (pictured above) that is currently being remodeled at 53 W. Truman Ave. According to the company website, owners will eventually move the winery to Utah.

After years of attempting to work through the severe restrictions in San Luis Obispo County the owners decided to listen to a trusted friend and bring the operation to Utah. (Can you believe someone thinks Utah's liquor laws are more welcoming than in California?)But there is a Utah connection. KGW Winemaker and General Manager, Michael Knight has worked in the hospitality, food and beverage business in the Salt Lake City and Park City area for many years.
