Real Salt Lake's Nick Rimando can add something new to his trophy case.
The veteran goalkeeper was voted by fans as the Utah Sports Commission's male athlete of the year. Rimando beat out NFL players Paul Kruger and Haloti Ngata, golfer Daniel Summerhays, Sacramento Kings standout Trevor Lewis, and rodeo star Jesse Wright for the honor.
Rimando also won an the Highlight of the Year award for his saves in the first leg of last year's playoff match up with Seattle. The results of the voting were announced Tuesday.
Rimando has 23 saves for Real Salt Lake through seven games this season, good for the second most in Major League Soccer.
