Tom Ecker, author of book on Olympics, to present comedic stylings, multimedia

The public is invited to hear a speech about the Olympics. Tom Ecker, author of Olympic Facts and Fables, presents comedy and a multimedia event at 7 p.m. Saturday at West High School's auditorium.

Proceeds go to Capitol Hill Kiwanis Club scholarships for West High School students. Tickets are $8 or $20 per family.

Ecker's career in sports has stretched from his record-breaking high school years into championship experiences at the University of Iowa, followed by years of coaching and writing.

He has 15 books to his credit and more than 100 technical articles in magazines, including the first warning about steroid use by athletes.

He served as national coach for Sweden in the 1968 Olympics, and has been involved in the Olympics ever since.

Also featured on the program are Dana Adams' enjoyable juggling act and a report from Jim Archuleta on his grandson David Archuleta.
