Fairbanks goes off in UVSC win

OREM - Just two days after setting a single-game school scoring record, Utah Valley State's Robyn Fairbanks did it again Wednesday, pouring in 43 in an 84-78 win against Montana State.

After totaling 34 on Monday against UC Riverside, the nation's second-leading scorer (25.9 ppg) shot 14-for-19 from the field. She also had 14 rebounds and three steals for the Wolverines (10-3).

"I thought she was great tonight. It is an impressive thing to watch somebody that, everybody knows we're going to go to her, and she just keeps coming out with great performances," said UVSC coach Cathy Nixon. "She's put together a first half of a season that she can really be proud of."

BYU 67, UC Riverside 57: At Provo, Dani Kubik Wright scored a career-high 27 points as the Cougars won their fifth straight.

Utah State 68, Portland 58: At Logan, a 23-4 first-half run snapped the Aggies' four-game losing streak.

Weber State 77, St. Louis 75: At Ogden, Laura Porter tied a career-high with 25 points and Sara Tuomi hit the game-winning jump shot with 4 seconds to go, as the Wildcats ended a six-game skid.

Men

Seattle Pacific 82, Dixie State 76: At St. George, Dan Stock had a season-high 25 points for the T-birds.
