UVSC falls in overtime

CLEVELAND - Utah Valley State could not score after getting the ball back with 8.4 second left in overtime, as the Wolverines lost the Cleveland State 70-69 in men's college basketball action Tuesday night.

UVSC fell behind 70-64 but trimmed the deficit to one after a three-pointer by Sylvester Allison and a basket by Ben Devoe. However, Allison's layup attempt at the buzzer rolled around the rim and out, giving the Vikings the victory.

Raheem Moss made a three-pointer with 5.8 seconds left in regulation to tie the score 62-62. Russell Wesley missed a trey at the regulation buzzer for Utah Valley State (5-6), sending the game to overtime.

David Heck and Chris Bailey scored 15 points each for the Wolverines. Moss led the Vikings (3-5) with 18 points.

Westminster 88, Virginia Intermont 51: Jared Ruiz scored 20 points as the Griffins cruised at a tournament in Orlando, Fla.

WOMEN

Southern Utah 80, UVSC 74: Cassie Hahl tied a career high with 23 points to lead the host Thunderbirds.
