16-year-old boy avoids life-threatening

injuries after multiple stab wounds

A 16-year-old boy was stabbed seven times in the chest Sunday morning but authorities said he didn't suffer any life-threatening injuries. South Salt Lake police Sgt. Steve Daniels said the boy was taken to a local hospital by friends but was uncooperative with police and refused to answer any questions about the stabbing. Investigators believe the 2:16 a.m. stabbing was gang-related and may have occurred in the parking lot of the Mambo Club, 3620 S. State St. There are no suspects in the case.
